The connection between braids, trees and toxic people...
Let's look at life through the eyes of a tree. Trees keep the air clean. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the air and release oxygen. Carbon dioxide is a gas that consists of two parts (one part oxygen and the other part carbon) . It is one of the most important gases on earth because it is used by plants to make carbohydrates in photosynthesis. Seeing as we need plants for food, photosynthesis is necessary for the survival of life on earth. If trees absorb carbon dioxide from the air, why would we bring the toxicity of people into our environment?
I have enjoyed a week in which I have had the opportunity to connect with many people. People of different ethnicities, sexualities, ages, genders and different economic backgrounds.
While on the plane, I saw these beautiful braids that this young woman had, and you might wonder what the connection is between the trees and this woman's braids and toxicity. (there is a lot in common, and I will explain why)
The humble activity of braiding one’s own hair or braiding one’s own hair can serve as revelatory ways to find joy and even heal emotional wounds. Hair braiding, for example, one of the most common beauty and self-care practices around the world, also happens to be deeply therapeutic. The manual, repetitive pattern — up and down, up and down — itself is a kind of tactile mantra focused on bringing something together rather than taking it apart.
NOW, LET'S PUT THIS ALL TOGETHER NOW!!!
“In Mexico, indigenous tribes say that you should always tie your hair up so that your thoughts don’t wander off.” Also, keep in mind that when we clean the house we tend to put our hair up, or if it’s short, we’ll find a way to brush it out of our face as a sign of order to concentrate and relax on what we’re doing.
Spending time around and looking at trees reduces stress, lowers blood pressure, and improves mood. Numerous studies show that both exercising in forests and simply sitting and looking at trees reduce blood pressure and the stress-related hormones cortisol and adrenaline.
Now let me bring you some facts about toxic people: (FACT 1) Toxic people's behavior will bring you down to their level. You will become bitter and angry and spread their toxicity to everyone you come into contact with. ...Toxic behavior is like a contagious virus that spreads like wildfire. (FACT 2) Toxic people can change, but it's unlikely. What's real is that nothing anyone does can change them. There are likely broken people, broken hearts, and broken relationships around them, and they always blame someone else for their failures.
(Fact 3) 7 Signs a Person is Toxic * You feel emotionally drained after an encounter with them. ... * They try to bully you into getting their way. ... * They try to control you by making you feel guilty. ... * They are easily jealous. ... * They constantly see themselves as victims. ... * They give backhanded compliments. ... * They are overly defensive.
Now, why would anyone want to go against nature? Let’s see what happens to us when we do something like braiding and caring for our hair. Nature itself is telling us that we are here on this earth to live a life of peace and tranquility even in the midst of trials, hurts, pain, heartbreak, loneliness, accidents, health problems, poverty, and even death.
