Tears and limits with love
What does the word Conscious mean?
I’m going to define it in its simplest form, it’s as a “sensitivity or awareness of internal or external existence.” Being aware allows you to see things in a different mindset. Sometimes when you love someone, such as a child, mother, friend, family member, spouse, etc., these people will hurt you with words or actions. I’ve learned that people hurt others because they are hurting you inside, and we need to respond with empathy and set BOUNDARIES WITH LOVE. Even when these actions are done unintentionally, it still causes pain. From that pain, tears end up rolling down the eyes, and believe it or not (crying) that’s okay because crying is a natural response that humans have to a variety of emotions, including sadness, pain, joy, and frustration.
What are the benefits of crying?
Here we see several:
Regulates his own emotions
Helps to calm down
Reduce your own anxiety
A 2014 study found that crying can have a direct, self-soothing effect on people. The study explained how crying activates the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS), which helps people relax. And it helps relieve pain. Research has found that in addition to being self-soothing, shedding emotional tears releases oxytocin and endorphins. These chemicals make people feel good and can also relieve physical and emotional pain. In this way, crying can help reduce pain and promote a sense of well-being.
I have had many moments like this. Today I see things in a different light. But because I have endured pain and know what it is to hurt and be hurt, I have become very empathetic to people's pain.
I know how to control my emotions and I understand that I cannot control people's decisions or actions. The only person I can control is myself. We control our emotions and we choose how we will react when a loved one acts in a hurtful way. I was a person who constantly blamed others for everything; and I did not take responsibility for my actions, and I allowed people to treat me the way they wanted. Once I decided to learn to say NO (with love) and put consequences on actions taken, and set boundaries with love, my life and my stress level began to decrease to a minimum.
Sometimes we allow others to stress us out to the point where we feel like we are going to faint; we feel like we can't breathe; the anguish reaches a point where one feels to the point that life is not worth living (for those immediate moments).
The next day you don't want to get out of bed; you feel dragged down and feel like your whole world is coming to an end. I've felt that way many times in my life, but that was because I put others in front of me. I had to learn to love myself, and that wasn't something I learned on my own. I had to buy emotional intelligence courses to learn how to love myself, say no and; and manage stress.
If someone yells, say, “He or she is yelling,” tell yourself, “He or she is not yelling at me,” because I do not accept yelling or being yelled at. If you are asked to do a task at work in a disruptive tone of voice, don’t make it about yourself; think, well, maybe this person is having a bad day. Just listen to the task and make sure your response is subtle and possibly ask, “Are you having a bad day?” “Are you okay?” Let others know that you will not allow anyone to disturb your peace. This is what I do at home. When something happens, I redirect and set boundaries and consequences with love.
Let's be realistic and understand that not everything in this world is perfect and we are not perfect either. If circumstances ever lead us to have to cry... then go ahead and do it (it will make you feel better, trust me)
My philosophy is… “I’d rather cry and let all my emotions out” – this way my heart and soul are not weighed down. When we shut down our feelings and bottle up what we feel, it eats us up from the inside and we become nasty, cruel, and sometimes evil. Every second we spend is a second we will NEVER experience again. You choose how you want to spend it. Life is a sequence of many tiny moments that will never be lived again. “I choose to love myself. What do you choose to do?” It’s okay to have people; things, situations, circumstances leave our lives in exchange for your peace. Write down your goals.
Live knowing that beautiful memories and yourself are what you will have with you in your Golden Years! Transparency and accountability are the keys to a better life...
How will you choose to live your life this moment? In the NOW? Think about it!
